Jun 03, 2014 · I'm a newbie who's just reading this. I'm running my first ultra, The Pistol 50 miler, on January 2nd. Just by happenstance, my training falls somewhere in between the running newbie and the marathon runner. I've done a 50K training run and several 20 milers, with 10-15 mile follow-up (back to back) runs the following day.
